Israel’s New (Non-) Citizen Law

Just imagine, as a US citizen you’d marry a Canadian but Canada will refuse to let you live in Canada with your spouse – based on your religion and/or or race specified as “Non-Canadian”. Let alone granting you Canadian citizenship.  Israel’s High Court has just upheld such new (and even amongst Israelis controversial) citizenship law. Israel still calls itself a Democracy, and they get upset if you tell them they are racists and uphold Apartheid.

Here is another law: The “Admission Committees Law,” which was recently passed by the Knesset. It entitles community villages, moshavim (collective farms) and kibbutzim to exclude Arabs and Ethiopians on the basis of “social suitability.” Yes, hard to believe but true. Read more here.

There is not much more to say, or to explain in better terms than Mark LeVine does in his article.
Have a nice day.

One Response to Israel’s New (Non-) Citizen Law

  1. An interesting discussion is worth comment. I think that you should write more on this topic, it might not be a taboo subject but generally people are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
